CSULB Launches New Program Allowing Students to Add Money to ID Cards On Campus
Long Beach, CA – California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) has just announced the launch of a new program that will allow students to add money to their student ID cards on campus. The program, which is set to roll out in the fall semester, aims to simplify the process of accessing campus services and paying for goods and services on campus.
The new program, called Beach Bucks, allows students to add money to their ID cards at various kiosks located throughout the campus. Once money has been added to their cards, students can use them to make purchases at on-campus dining locations, vending machines, and campus stores, as well as for printing services and laundry facilities.
“We are excited to launch the Beach Bucks program and provide our students with a convenient and secure way to access the services they need on campus,” said Dr. Jane Close Conoley, President of CSULB. “This program will streamline the process of making purchases on campus and make it easier for students to manage their finances.”
In addition to providing students with a convenient way to make purchases on campus, the Beach Bucks program also offers a number of benefits for the university. By encouraging students to add money to their ID cards, CSULB can reduce the amount of cash that is circulated on campus, which can improve security and reduce the risk of theft.
Furthermore, the Beach Bucks program will allow the university to track student spending habits and collect valuable data on student preferences and behaviors. This information can be used to enhance the student experience and tailor campus services to better meet the needs of the student population.
To add money to their ID cards, students simply need to visit one of the Beach Bucks kiosks located on campus and follow the on-screen instructions. They can add funds using cash, credit, or debit cards, and the money will be instantly available for use on their ID cards.
“I think the Beach Bucks program is a great idea,” said Sarah Johnson, a senior at CSULB. “It’s so much more convenient than carrying around cash or trying to remember to bring my debit card everywhere. I can just load money onto my ID card and use it for everything I need on campus.”
The Beach Bucks program has already garnered positive feedback from students and faculty members alike, with many praising its convenience and ease of use. The program is expected to be fully implemented by the start of the fall semester, and the university plans to launch a marketing campaign to inform students about the new service.
“We are confident that the Beach Bucks program will be a success and will greatly benefit our students and the university as a whole,” said Dr. Conoley. “We are committed to providing our students with the tools and resources they need to succeed, and we believe that the Beach Bucks program is a step in the right direction.”
Overall, the launch of the Beach Bucks program represents a significant milestone for CSULB and demonstrates the university’s commitment to innovation and student success. By providing students with a convenient and secure way to access campus services, the program is expected to enhance the overall student experience and make campus life more convenient for everyone involved.
