St. Louis Residents Can Now Get Cyc ID Cards
St. Louis, MO – The city of St. Louis has introduced a new identification card program called Cyc ID (City ID Cards). These cards are designed to help residents who may not have traditional forms of identification gain access to city services, programs, and facilities.
The Cyc ID cards are available to all residents of the city, regardless of immigration status, age, or housing situation. The program was created in response to the needs of residents who may face barriers to obtaining government-issued identification, such as undocumented immigrants, homeless individuals, and young people without driver’s licenses.
“We want to make sure that all residents of St. Louis have access to the services and programs that are available in our city,” said Mayor Tishaura Jones. “The Cyc ID program is a way for us to ensure that everyone has the identification they need to fully participate in our community.”
To obtain a Cyc ID card, residents must provide proof of residency in St. Louis, such as a utility bill or lease agreement, as well as a recent photograph. The cards are available for a small fee, with discounts available for low-income individuals.
The Cyc ID cards can be used to access a variety of city services, including public transportation, libraries, and community centers. Additionally, many local businesses and organizations have agreed to accept the cards as a form of identification for their services.
“We are excited to be a part of this program and to provide a valuable resource to our community,” said Sarah Johnson, the director of a local nonprofit organization. “The Cyc ID cards will help us serve more residents and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to participate in our programs.”
In addition to providing access to services, the Cyc ID cards also offer residents a sense of security and belonging in their community. For many individuals, having a form of identification is essential for tasks such as applying for a job, opening a bank account, or signing a lease.
“I have been living in St. Louis for years, but I have always struggled to get official identification,” said Maria Lopez, a resident who recently obtained a Cyc ID card. “Having this card makes me feel like a real part of the community and gives me the confidence to access the services I need.”
The Cyc ID program has already been met with enthusiasm from residents and local organizations alike. The city plans to expand the program in the coming months to reach even more individuals who may benefit from having a form of official identification.
“We are proud to offer this important resource to our residents and to help create a more inclusive and supportive community,” said Mayor Jones. “The Cyc ID cards are just one way that we are working to ensure that everyone in St. Louis has the opportunities and support they need to thrive.”
